1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, phone) and reads again on your next visit. We treat similar technologies the same way — for example the browser’s local storage (local storage, session storage), pixels or third-party scripts. Where this policy says “cookies”, it means these technologies too.
Cookies can be temporary (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent (they stay on your device for the stated period), first-party (set directly by this website) or third-party (set by other providers).
2. Which cookies this website uses
We always use strictly necessary cookies, because the website cannot work without them. Optional cookies (preferences, analytics, marketing) run only after you consent in the cookie banner, and only in the categories you allow.
Strictly necessary items of the e-shop: the cart contents and its ID, the chosen currency and language, sign-in to your customer account (only if you sign in), products in the comparison, saved catalogue filters, a discount code from a cart recovery link, the chat conversation (if you use it), the closed app installation offer and, for the administrator, sign-in to the administration. They are created by what you do on the website and we never send them for advertising or analytics.
The list below (name, provider, purpose and duration) is generated from the same configuration as the cookie banner.
3. Cookie categories
Strictly necessary — no consent needed
They make the website work — for example by remembering your cookie choice or settings you have explicitly chosen yourself (language, light or dark mode). They cannot be switched off and do not require consent.
Preferences — only with consent
They allow content from other providers embedded in the page to be shown (Google map on the Contact page). Until you consent, a placeholder with an “Allow and load” button is shown instead (one-off consent for this content during this visit only), and nothing is loaded from the provider.
Analytics — only with consent
Page speed measurement (Core Web Vitals): after you consent to the Analytics category, the website sends anonymous page loading speed data (e.g. LCP, CLS) only to our own server — without cookies, without storing anything on your device and without identifying you. Without consent nothing is sent.
Marketing — only with consent
Partner programme: if you arrive through a partner link with a code (?ref=), we store the referrer code in the drag_ref cookie for 30 days so that your sign-up is credited to the partner — but only after you consent to the Marketing category. Without consent the code is not stored.
4. Legal basis
Storing information on your device and accessing it is governed by Section 109(8) of Slovak Act No. 452/2021 Coll. on Electronic Communications, as amended by Act No. 297/2025 Coll. No consent is required for what is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested — this is the basis on which we use strictly necessary cookies. Where we process personal data through cookies, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on Personal Data Protection also apply.
We use optional cookies only on the basis of your consent (Section 109(8) of Act No. 452/2021 Coll. and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We do not rely on legitimate interest for cookies.
5. Consent, its scope and duration
On your first visit, the cookie banner is shown. In it you can accept all cookies (“Accept all”), reject all except strictly necessary ones (“Reject all” — on the same layer and equally prominent) or choose individual categories (“Allow selected”). No optional category is switched on in advance.
Closing the banner with the × or the Esc key means rejecting all optional cookies, even if you allowed them before. We do not treat scrolling or further browsing as consent, and consent is not a condition for using the website.
Both consent and refusal last 12 months. After that we will ask again; earlier only if the use of cookies changes significantly (for example a new purpose or a new third party) or if you delete your choice in the browser.
We keep a record of your decision so that we can prove consent: a random consent ID, the time, your choice per category, the banner version, the language and the page address. The record contains neither your IP address nor your name, and we keep it for at most 4 years. You can find your consent ID in the cookie settings.

6. How to change or withdraw consent
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time and free of charge, as easily as you gave it — via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page or with the button below. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it.
You can also view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security
- Safari: Settings → Privacy
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
If you block or delete strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website may not work properly and the cookie notice will be shown again.
7. Third parties and transfers outside the EU
Optional services are provided by third parties that process data under their own policies:
- Google Ireland Limited — Google map on the Contact page; policy: policies.google.com/privacy
These providers may also process data in the USA. Transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, in which Google LLC participates, or on standard contractual clauses.
8. Your rights and supervisory authorities
Where we process personal data through cookies, you have the right under the GDPR and Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. to access it, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict processing, to data portability and to object, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time. Details are in the Privacy policy. You can exercise your rights at info@dragbicykle.sk.
You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority:
- Storing and reading cookies (Section 109(8) of Act No. 452/2021 Coll.): Úrad pre reguláciu elektronických komunikácií a poštových služieb (Slovak communications regulator), Továrenská 7, 828 55 Bratislava 24, www.teleoff.gov.sk, podnety@teleoff.gov.sk
- Processing of personal data (GDPR, Act No. 18/2018 Coll.): Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky (Slovak data protection authority), Galvaniho 7/B, 821 04 Bratislava, www.dataprotection.gov.sk, statny.dozor@pdp.gov.sk
9. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the cookies, tools or laws change. The current version is always on this page; the date of the last change is shown at the top.
